Once known as the largest city to declare bankruptcy, Stockton is now known as the location for the largest industrial spec building investment ever to be made in San Joaquin County and Northern California.
Yes, a continuing stream of “Good News” of upbeat economic stories are now appearing about what’s happening in Stockton.
Stockton has now emerged as Northern California’s best location and crossroads that meet the changing and challenging needs of modern logistics companies. These requirements include the need to be located close to ports, rail yards, and truck routes to handle containerized cargo.
CT Realty and investment partner Diamond Realty Investments announced on June 22 at the groundbreaking the construction of 1.7 million sq. . in three building spec buildings at a cost of $135 million—the largest spec building development ever. And this is only the first phase within this 345-acre master planned NorCal Logistics Center.
Amazingly one building planned for 1,122,341 sq. . can be expanded to over up two million sq. . of manufacturing or logistic space to one user. Certainly, this is a Stockton competitive advantage since no other California community now offers such a large spec building to locate in.
In addition, a location in NorCal Logistics Center allows users the unique choice between two major rail services to ship products. Located adjacent to the expanding Burlington Northern Santa Fe intermodal facility, the large Union Pacific intermodal rail yard is only 10 miles away. Few communities have two intermodal services.
Of course, these new state-of-the-art logistic center spec buildings have direct access to all major interstate and state highways, Stockton Metro Airport with air cargo services and the inland Port of Stockton and nearby Port of Oakland.
This groundbreaking was a hallmark celebration that solidi ed Stockton’s unique claim on becoming a major E-Commerce and logistics fulfillment hub in San Joaquin County which is the crossroads for commerce for the NorCal Megaregion. Congratulations, CT Realty and City of Stockton, on job well done.
