October 14, 2016
A skilled and educated workforce leads to job growth, community development, and economic sustainability. In San Joaquin County, institutions for higher education are providing essential resources for students and enterprise to draw from to maximize workforce and economic development opportunities.
The University of the Pacific (UOP) offers students a unique opportunity to gain on-the-job skills through the school’s intensive cooperative education (CO-OP) program. UOP’s Career Resource Center provides assistance recruiting prospective employees. Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU) opened a satellite campus in Tracy in a celebrated partnership with the City to offer more opportunities for professional development. Other nearby schools are also providing educational opportunities for students, such as California State University, Stanislaus, which offers degree and credential programs at its Stockton and Tracy locations.
