PG&E Opens New Energy Efficient Facility in Stockton
April 15, 2016
With a facility featuring solar panels, electric vehicle charging stations and drought-tolerant landscaping, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) inaugurated its new Stockton Regional Office at 3136 Boeing Way in Stockton on Monday, March 28.
The house of the future is on show at PG&E’s new office, which has a 1,500-square foot Zero Net Energy (ZNE) display home that will educate visitors on energy efficiency. The Central Valley Business Journal reported that the display will highlight techniques for achieving a ZNE home, which produces as much energy as it uses over the course of a year.
The Journal added that the display home will also educate the public on the requirements to meet California’s ambitious goals for all new construction to be Zero Net Energy by 2020. Commercial construction has until 2030 to achieve that status.
