North San Joaquin Valley Conference Addresses Area Economic and Transportation Issues October 13

Issues for regional economic integration and growth are the focus of the 2015 State of the North San Joaquin Valley Conference on Tuesday, October 13. Topics discussed at the conference will include demographics, regional economic indicators, and economic development as it relates to transportation infrastructure.
A new publication, the North San Joaquin Valley Index, that tracks indicators of economic prosperity and sustainability for the 3-county North San Joaquin Valley region will be presented by University of the Pacific's (UOP) Center for Business and Policy Research. The presentation will include an economic outlook, and highlight the emerging and increasingly integrated economic region including connections to the Bay Area.
Three panels for discussion include: Transportation and Economic Development in the NSJV; Demographic Outlook: Growth, Migration, Commuting; and Downtowns in the NSJV – Vision and reality for Stockton and Beyond.
The event is hosted by UOP Center for Business and Policy Research. Sponsors include J. P. Morgan Chase & Company, the San Joaquin Council of Governments, and UOP Eberhardt School of Business. The conference takes place on October 13 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (PDT) at the University Plaza Waterfront Hotel.
