San Joaquin County’s Logistics Industry a Draw for Manufacturers
August 8, 2015
California is more than great beaches for surfing or ski slopes with après at the A-Bar in Squaw Valley at the end of another glorious day, it’s the number one manufacturing state in the nation.
Another interesting fact to consider when you’re eating a delicious California strawberry, blueberry or tomato - California is the number one agricultural state in the nation. Those Happy Cows and rockin’ California raisins aren’t kidding around.
Here’s something else you should know. San Joaquin USA is in the center of all of this with $3 billion in agricultural production of crops as well as a center for diversified manufacturing.
With its booming logistics industry that makes it easy to transport products anywhere in the world, San Joaquin County is a particular draw for manufacturers. Among the many reasons that makes San Joaquin County so attractive:
Nearly $1 billion of infrastructure improvements are either underway or on the drawing board.
Companies also have easy access to nearly 14.5 million customers.
The cost of doing business is also significantly lower than in other parts of the state.
Real estate can be bought in the area for significantly less money than the Bay Area or Southern California.
“When we look at our critical projects, we have seen more manufacturers in our pipeline,” Ammann said. “The overall trend is to see more manufacturing opportunities in the next 18 months.”
