Health Care In San Joaquin County Improves with New Surgical Center Under Development
May 27, 2015
Health care services in San Joaquin County are expanding. After Doctors Hospital of Manteca experienced a 20 percent increase in outpatient surgeries last year it was clear they would have to increase services to meet demand.
Nico Tejeda, Doctors Hospital of Manteca Chief Executive Officer, commented that this growing number reflects patient preference, as Doctors Hospital has become the premier choice for emergency room visits, outpatient procedures, and surgeries. Tenet Healthcare is investing $7 million in a state-of-the-art outpatient surgical center.
The groundbreaking ceremony, which took place Friday, May 22, will pave the way towards what Doctors Hospital of Manteca Chief Executive Officer Nico Tejeda says will “-fundamentally change the face of care in our community.” Participating in the groundbreaking were, from left, Tamara Spade, John Magnelos, Paul Zeek, David Schene, Mayor Steve DeBrum, Nico Tejeda, Amarjit Dahliwal, Carmen Silva, Supervisor Bob Elliott, and Joanne Be.
The new surgery center will include three operating rooms, and two procedure rooms in its 6,000 square foot space, and is scheduled to be finished by 2016.
