San Joaquin County Sees Increase in Construction and Related Jobs
May 8, 2015
The pace of construction has picked up, setting up this year, 2015, "to be a year of significant recovery for the U.S. construction industry" according to a survey conducted by the Construction Financial Management Association.
Much of the growth has come in just the past year, according to the Associated General Contractors of California.
“The construction industry in California has seen a 7 percent increase in jobs, more than 40,000 from March 2014 to March 2015,” said the organization’s CEO Thomas Holsman.
Construction is the top performing employment category in San Joaquin Valley, according to the CSU Stanislaus’ Business Forecast mid-year update. Employment is projected to grow to 47,500 by 2017.
