Mountain House, part of Greater Silicon Valley, shows residents final town center plan
April 25, 2015
Mountain House, one of California’s premiere master planned communities, has unvieled its Town Center Plan to residents. The plan is the product of years of careful study and planning, hundreds of conversations, and three formal planning workshops.
Key points of the community input from formal planning workshops have been incorporated into the concept plan, including:
Pedestrian-friendly Town Center
Compact Shopping Core
Multi-purpose Town Center
Housing and Mixed-Use Connected to the Town Center
According to the artist’s rendition, the town center will feature lots of walking paths to and from a primary area for larger retail outlets, including a grocery store and a gas station.
The plans also show a Main Street that will highlight smaller shops and restaurants and a mix of residential space that is anchored by a permanent library and CSD offices.
The updated plans have been submitted to the San Joaquin County Planning Department and must be approved by the planning commission and the board of supervisors.
In addition, a community meeting will be scheduled to take place sometime in the next two or three months for an update on the plan’s county approval process.
